How it works

You send us something important. We look at it properly, prepare your Ginchy and send you a proof before you decide whether to proceed.

From photograph to framed Ginchy

1

Send your photograph

Choose one favourite photograph and tell us anything you’d like us to know or change. Then submit it securely through the website.

2

We prepare your Ginchy

We personally review your photograph and prepare the artwork — considering the composition, cropping and wording — rather than simply returning an instant automated result.

3

Review your proof

We normally email your proof within 48 hours. Take your time with it, and ask for changes if something isn’t quite right.

4

Approve, print and frame

Only once you’re happy do we confirm the delivery cost, arrange payment and print, mount and frame your finished Ginchy.

What can we change?

If there’s something you’d like adjusted, tell us when you send your photograph. We can often crop distracting edges, remove unwanted objects such as cars or signs, straighten elements, simplify clutter or make the main subject more prominent.

We’re also happy to help with the title, subtitle and overall composition. Or simply upload your photograph and leave the preparation to us — you’ll see everything in your proof before deciding.

How your Ginchy is made

A Ginchy doesn’t end when the artwork is approved. The way it is printed, mounted and framed matters too.

We use carefully chosen materials and professional printing equipment so the finished piece has the colour, detail and presence we want — without turning it into an unnecessarily expensive bespoke-framing product.

The paper

Each Ginchy is printed on substantial 275gsm bright-white lustre paper. Its smooth finish sits between gloss and matte, giving colours richness and depth without the highly reflective surface of glossy photo paper. It is well suited to strong colour, deep blacks and fine detail.

The print

Each Ginchy is printed using professional photographic printing equipment and high-quality pigment inks. Pigment inks are chosen for their colour, detail and excellent longevity, with much greater resistance to fading than typical dye-based desktop printer inks.

The frame

Every Ginchy is supplied mounted in a clean black ready-made frame with clear acrylic glazing. We deliberately don’t use expensive bespoke framing. Frames are personal, and adding a custom frame to every order would significantly increase the price without necessarily making the Ginchy better for every customer. The standard frame gives you a finished piece that is ready to display while helping us keep the overall price accessible. If you later prefer a different frame, it can easily become part of your own home and style.

We spend the money where it makes a difference — on the artwork, paper and print quality — and keep the frame simple.

What photographs work well?

  • Favourite places
  • Holidays
  • Homes
  • Landmarks
  • Beautiful views
  • Family moments
  • Special memories
  • Pets and animals

Wider compositions and scenes often translate best. Close-up portraits looking directly at the camera are usually less suitable. Your photograph doesn’t need to be perfect — we can often improve the crop and composition and remove distractions as part of preparing your Ginchy.
