Who we are and what these terms cover

GinchyPrints is a small United Kingdom business that prepares personalised framed artwork, known as a Ginchy print.

These terms apply whenever you use this website, whether you commission a Ginchy print from your own photograph or buy a finished Ginchy print from the Gallery.

Two different journeys

Commissioned Ginchy print: you send us a photograph and proposed wording as a request. We prepare a proof, you approve the artwork, and only then do we send you a secure link to confirm the order and its total.

Gallery Ginchy print: you order a finished framed piece that already exists. You give your details and quantity, then see the complete total and confirm it in a second step.

The two routes follow different paths, but neither commits you to buying anything until you have seen the complete total and confirmed the order.

A commissioned request is not a purchase

Submitting the Create a Ginchy form is a request for a personally prepared proof. It does not complete a purchase, no order is created at that point, and no payment is due when you send your photograph.

Photograph ownership and permission

When you submit a photograph you are asked to confirm: “I confirm that I own this photograph or have permission from the copyright owner to use it, and I give GinchyPrints permission to use it to prepare my requested artwork.” We cannot accept a request without this confirmation.

Please do not submit a photograph that infringes another person’s copyright or any other legal rights. You remain responsible for obtaining all permissions required before submitting it.

That confirmation gives GinchyPrints a non-exclusive licence to store, process and transform the image only to prepare your proof, fulfil any resulting order and provide customer support. Copyright in the original photograph remains with you or the original copyright owner.

GinchyPrints may refuse or cancel a request if we reasonably believe the photograph infringes copyright or is otherwise unsuitable for the service.

Review and suitability

GinchyPrints personally reviews each photograph and may decline images that are unsuitable, unlawful, technically unusable or inconsistent with the service.

The title and subtitle you provide are proposed wording for the proof. We may suggest small wording or layout refinements while preparing it. Optional comments help us understand your request but do not guarantee a particular edit or alteration.

Proof timing

We normally email a proof within 48 hours. This is an aim rather than an absolute guarantee, and complex requests or exceptional demand may take longer.

Approving your proof

Approving a proof is approval of the artwork only. It is not an order for a particular total, it does not commit you to buying, and no payment is requested at that point.

You may decline a proof without obligation.

Confirming a commissioned order

After you approve your proof we prepare your order and email you a secure confirmation link. That link is personal to your order and should not be shared.

On the confirmation page you choose collection or postal delivery, give delivery details if your order is being posted, and see the number of framed prints, any discount, the delivery charge and the complete total.

Before you confirm you are asked to agree: “I agree to the Terms of Use and confirm that I have read the Privacy Policy.” You cannot confirm without agreeing.

Confirming means you agree to the order details and the complete total shown to you at that moment. If a price or delivery charge changes before you confirm, the figures are updated and you are asked to review and confirm again.

You may decline the order at that stage without obligation.

Ordering a Ginchy print from the Gallery

A Gallery order is placed in two steps. In the first step you give your name, email address, the number of framed prints and any comments or code. Nothing is ordered at that point.

In the second step you choose collection or postal delivery, give a delivery address if your order is being posted, and see the complete total including any discount and the delivery charge. You are asked to agree to the same final acceptance wording before confirming.

Your order is created only when you confirm in that second step.

Availability is confirmed at that point. If a piece is no longer available we will tell you and no order will be created.

Number of framed prints

You may order between one and ten framed prints in a single request or order. Every copy uses the same approved artwork.

For larger quantities, please contact us and we will arrange it with you.

Collection and delivery

Collection is free. We arrange the collection details with you directly.

Postal delivery is charged and is calculated automatically for United Kingdom addresses only. The delivery charge depends on the number of framed prints and is always shown to you before you confirm.

For delivery outside the United Kingdom, please contact us and we will arrange it with you separately.

Delivery is not included in the artwork price.

Prices, discounts and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Where a discount applies to your order, it is shown as a separate line before the total.

No payment is taken online at any stage. Once you have confirmed your order, we contact you to arrange payment separately.

We aim to have your order ready promptly after payment is arranged and will keep you informed if anything is likely to take longer.

Showing finished work in the Gallery

Photographs and prepared artwork are never published automatically.

When you confirm a commissioned order you may optionally agree: “I give GinchyPrints permission to display my finished Ginchy print in the public Gallery as an example of its work. This is optional and does not mean it will be published.” Leaving this unticked has no effect on your order.

Giving this permission does not oblige us to publish anything, and we would never publish your original photograph as submitted.

You can change your mind at any time by emailing hello@ginchyprints.com, and we will remove the piece from the public Gallery.
